PAR Download

Hello All,

Can we download a par file related to an iview in Business Package for MSS?

We need to modify this file and base our new component on this?

Thanks for every Advice.

You can download the business package for MSS from the iviewstudio, unzip it and take a look inside the Zip file. I am not sure about the licence agreement, if it allows you to change the code behind MSS since we have never had to do this ourselves. I would start in the licence agreement before attempting to change the code.

Goto <b>Portal Admin->Export</b>. Select <b>Java Templates</b>, and then from the list, select the PAR file(s) you want to export.

Before you modify SAP code, be aware of the maintenance headaches you may be creating, everytime an update is applied to the relevant business package.

      Hello All,

Is it some thing like this:

Even SAP provides standard function modules and programs and codes of the same to be used in our reports.

We can have a look at the code of all this but if we want to change some thing in the standard functionality then we need access key.

If we do not have the access key and still have to change the standard functionality then we can always copy the standard SAP code and then change it according to our customizations scenarios.

The case would still be same here. We can download the par file from the portal itself and then we can save the same using a different name. See the existing code of anything (JSP's internalization and decompile java class file also). If we are satisfied with the functionality we can upload the new par file, although it would still be providing the same functionality. We can also make changes in the new file based on the customizations and then upload the new and modified par file. We need to be very sure that we are not renaming the file to some file that is already present in the portal else it would give us an error while uploading the par file.

I suppose we have not breached license agreement at any point.
