Web Dynpro and ITS

Hi,

Do communication berween Web Dynpro and ITS possible. If so how to do the configuration. If programming is required, where to write that? I have seen a document in SDN which tell that communication between ITS or BSP with Web Dynpro is possible. But not seen the details which I am looking for...ie, how to capture an ITS event in Web Dynpro and how to fire a compatable event in ITS?

I am using the WAS 6.3 SP2(Ramp up version), EP 6.0 SP2 and a stand alone ITS installation for my 4.6C R/3 system.

Thanks in advance,

Sam Mathew

    Hello Sam,

Regarding the portal eventing (I suppose you mean that at least partly) please take a look at the following documents:

    - Documentation: How to program portal eventing

    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sapportals.km.docs/documents/a1-8-4/how to program portal eventing

    - Documentation: How to integrate a Web Dynpro app into EP 6.0

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sapportals.km.docs/documents/a1-8-4/how to integrate a web dynpro application into sap ep 6.0

Regarding ITS I need to come back to you later.

    Hope that helps!

    Best regards,

    Karin

      Hello Sam,

I am very sorry for the delay. Regarding your question "ie, how to capture an ITS event in Web Dynpro and how to fire a compatable event in ITS?": that does not work that way. I still work on having a kind of guide or advice for you as an alternative to that. Please let me talk to some more people. I'll come back then.

      Best regards, Karin

    Hi Sam,

We have implemented a mechanism whereby when a link present in a webdynpro table (representing a document no in R/3) is clicked, we show the ITS View displaying the details of that document in R/3. For eg. if i click on invoice no: 5102222001 in the webdynpro table the view gets replaces by an ITS View showing the details of the above invoice as if a user had manually mavigated to the ITS View logged in, entered the relevant transaction eg. VA01 or VL01 and entered the invoice no: 5102222001 and clicked on 'display'.

i am not sure if this is what you mean when you say firing an ITS event from Webdynpro iView.

      Hi Jake,

Are you using WDContextAdaptor and Link to URL function?

Would you please let me know, the details? Actually I am interested in the reverse navigation. For Eg: Web Dynpro Input Field-> Calling SAP search help(SAP Gui for HTML)->select one item from the list--> the result being back populated on the Web Dynrpo field.

I have already designed a round about solution. I would be interested in and ready to use functionality or ideas.

      Thanks and Regards,

      Sam Mathew
