How to assign non-stock material as compopnent to operation in General task list?

Hi Shiv,

I have the same problem and none of the points in the replies answer this problem.

When a General task list is created, it is not possible to assign materials from a BOM as no technical object can be referenced. How can a material with no SAP number be included in the general task list? In a BOM you need to enter only the material description, quantity, unit of meassure and "N" as item category; but this is not possible in IA05. Is there a work around to be able to do this?

Here's a different way around the issue (there are loads of variations too)..

Enter your materials in the GTL as normal ignoring the item category

Utilise a user-exit/BADI (I think IWO1_TL_INTERGRATION works) to change this value when the GTL is assigned to the order.

To add a Non-stock material to a General Maint Tasklist you need to first create a material BOM listing the component on this BOM as a Non-stock material (item category of u201CNu201D in our system). Then add this BOM to the header of the Tasklist in the assembly field. Select the "Component Selection" button on the component overview screen. The following screen will display the BOM in a structure display, choose the items required. The materials are transferred back to the tasklist with the item category that is listed on the BOM, being either Stocked or Non-Stocked material. This will allow you to add the component as the Non-stock material to a tasklist.

Go to T-code IA05, Enter the task list description and then click on the Operation tab.

Enter the Operations/ tasks be carrie out for that particular task list with/without manhours and no of persons.After this Press Enter so that the control key is activated to calculate the Activity price for the relevat activity type.

Highlight the Operation line item and click on the Components tab, Enter the required material no, quantities and Unit for the desired materials and save.

U can see that all materials reqd for that operation line item are assigned to the task list. repeat the same for rest of the operatiosn in the respective task list/Group.

Hi, there is no standard way to insert Item category "N" in task list. however u can acheive it by using Equipment BOM. Creat BOM for item category "N" items. and... while you select materials in tasklist... select item of " N" category.

But client is using General task list only. And they want to assign non -stock material with item category N. Kindly suggest .

After entering the component, there is a column MRP/PR. Use this column. Press F1 in this column. This may help you.

Hi Shiv,

Here is the solution:

1. Create task list and enter the material code with required quantity. Keep MRP/PR column blank.

2. Don't forget to maintain MRP view in the material master with reorder planing and minimum lot size data.

3. Assign task list in maintenance plan.

4. Schedule maintenance plan.

5. Release maintenance order.

6. Note the reservation number

7. Run MRP MD03 - Single item, single level with material code

8. Go to MD04 and check the PR number.

9. Here your reservation number will convert into PR because non-stock material has stock zero in store.

I have run this scenario successfully. I request you to try this. Item category is not required here.
