mean value in QAMR

Hi Experts,

When I do result recording to a quan. char. A, the decimal place is 1. I input 27.45 as result, and 27.5 shows as Mean value of result for char. A, that is correct. But when I check the table QAMR, the field MITTELWERT as Arithmetic Mean of Valid Measured Values shows 2.7449999999999999E01. So could anyone can explain to me why this situation happened? Why doesn't the system store this value as 2.7450000000000000E01 in the table?

Many thanks in advance.

What kind of results do you record? QMAR is basically the mean value of the samples which is what is shown in the UD screen. The actual individual result for the test is often in another table like QASE or QASR depending on how you have the system set up. Make sure you also check the field for original value.

I think the value QMAR is changed slightly by whatever calulation is being done to get a mean value.

The results for your individual IP, even for the calculated ones, should be in table QASE in field MESSWERT.

You also need to pull field MESSWERTNI to know if the MESSWERT is 0 or null.

Even for a calculated characteristic, you should still find a value in table QAMR in field MITTELWERT.

I have never checked but for a calculated characteristic I'm not surprised the original value field is not used. The original value field is usually used to hold the actual entered value prior to any rounding or input processing routines. Since calculated characteristics are calculated from other values, you probably wouldn't apply any input processing routines to them.
