Transmission security

Hi gurus,

how is the MI dealing with the security lack within the WEP (Wireless Equivalent Privacy), which has been cracked in 2001. I mean is synchrnoization really secure? Are new standards as WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and EAP (extensible Authentication Protocol) supported if provided by WLAN card vendor?
