Support of multiple applications on the same device

Is MI 2.5 going to support multiple applications on the same device, like user can download MAM and MTT on to the same device. What is the time frame on this?

    Hi Helen,

we unfortunately have the limitation in ME 2.1, that only 1 Smart Sync application may be installed on each device and not two concurrently. This will definitely be fixed for MI 2.5 and may even be down ported to ME 2.1 later.

    Best regards, Jan

    • Hi Helen,

currently there are no plans to support this in the future.

By the way, technically, both framework types store and access the data in the same way (you can easily check this by changing the runtime parameter in <me_root>/settings/mobileengine.config from value tomcat to awt and then start ME anew. So for development, we'd need to solve all concurrency issues when ME would allow dual mode (e.g. changing the same ME parameters at the same time from AWT and JSP, interaction between apps etc.).

      Cu, Jan
