WebAS 6.2 . not able to run BSP

Hi,

I have installed WebAS 6.2 successfully in my Windows XP professional (2GHz,512RAM,30GB)Box. When I try BSP Application TUTORUAL_1 , it opens browser and ask for userid/password, I enter bcuser/minisap and it shows an error in the browser.

Business Server Page (BSP) Error

BSP Exception: Die URL enthält keine vollständige Domainangabe (mycomp01 statt mycomp01MYCOMP01).

I guess I am missing something related with the domain name. How to fix this?. Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Vinod

Hello Vinod

How does your c:windowssystem32driversetchosts file look like ?

My file contains some comment lines and 2 lines:

127.0.0.1 localhost

192.168.0.4 mail

192.168.0.4 is my servers IP

mail is my servers computer name.

PS.

Maybe I should add that have exactly the same problem. My error message is:

BSP Exception: Die URL enthält keine vollständige Domainangabe (mail statt mailmail).

When installing the SAP system I skipped one specific XP step from the installation notes because I couldn't find it in my XP administration:

Open the network connectivity definition with start->control panel->network connections for defining the network connection. Select  ->extended-> allow other users in network. Activate new configurations.

Is this step important, and if yes - where can I do this "allow other users in network" ? In my network connections administration I have no ->extended.

I did do the step "Select remote desktop within extended configuration menu.", but I don't like it because its a potential security risk?

Hello again

I think I found the solution:

...

and the quick and dirty solution:

1) In SE80 you choose Utilities->Settings

2) In the popup you select the Business Server Pages tab

3) In Applicaiton Server you enter the IP address

and voila - problem solved (at least when testing in SE80).

Best regards

PS. I still don't know why the installation notes says:

-Open the network connectivity definition with start->control panel->network connections for defining the network connection. Select  ->extended-> allow other users in network. Activate new configurations.

-Select remote desktop within extended configuration menu.

but that's a different story.
