Installing the SAP sneak WAS 6.30 preview edition

Hello,

While installing the SAP sneak WAS 6.30 preview edition in my W2K professional, I am getting the "Password policy error". The error happens during the time of creating the admin user with the defualt 3 char pwd. My Org has a strong password policy and it is not allowing to create a user with the 3 char pwd. Did any body have experienced the simllar problem ? Please advice, how to correct the problem and go ahead in the installation.

Regards,

Velu Pillai

    Hello Velu,

this is a known issue with no easy work around rather then using a stand alone machine which does not need to comply to the password policy.

    Greetings

    Hi all,

I succeded to pass this problem in the following way (not easy, but doable):

Copied the whole CD onto harddrive, (624 MB on disk)

    made a backup-copy of file control.xml in SAPINSTNTI386

edited control.xml, around line 43712 a number of password defaults are defined

I padded the defaults to comply with my policies, 9 char min in pw.

Then I run the install from the harddrive and it succeded

well some troubles, but not from password rules

      Per-Ake,

I am trying out your suggestion. I see there are three different places where the password had to be changed around line number 43712. But I still get the error. How many places did you have to change the password in the control.xml file ? Please help.
