Visibility of Formula Variables

I created some formula variables which calculate the # of days in a month, and the current day of the month.

I use these to calculate a percentage to see how complete the current month is.

When I open the first query I used them in they appear fine.

When I create a new query using the same InfoCube or a different source, I can't see these formula variables anymore... Is this a bug identified by SAP?? or how can they be seen across InfoProviders??/
