Uploading values from PC to a WebReport Selection Screen Field

Hi I have a requirement and wondering if it is possible to implement.

Running any R/3 Report or Query in Excel pops up the selection screen and we can upload mutiple values from PC file to a selection field.

This option(uploading values from file) is not available for web report.

Any Idea how can I achieve.

(I have tried to use one of the unsued characteristics variable to enter the file name, and using user exit upload the data into the variable in question, but this is not working)

Right now you can't (BW 3.x) do that in web reporting.

A <i>possible</i> solution would be to have a page prior to the query which asks the user for the file, uploads it, parses it out and using parameters and command URLS executes the query with the information pulled from the file.

I don't know if you would be able to accomplish this by having a html file on the BW server. I know I could proabably do it in ASP on an IIS server. But you could probably do it using javascript.

Not the cleanest of ideas, but a possible path to take. I don't know whether or not adding this Excel only feature to the Web is slated for 3.5 or 4.0.
