Web: Linking Similar Objects

I'm creating a web template that includes information from several queries based on different InfoCubes. I'd like to use a single drop-down list to allow the user to select the value of an InfoObject that appears as a (dimensional) characteristic in one cube and a navigable attribute in another. Since the technical names are not the same (OBJECT1 versus OBJECT2__OBJECT1) it is not sufficient to select both data providers in the 'List' of the 'Affected Data Providers' property, however the user would not perceive them as different and would not expect to have to select them separately.

Can anyone suggest a way to link the two objects to the same drop-down control?
