Loading time-dependent attributes

Hello all,

we intend to turn some attributes time-dependent. As there will be no period of validity from the source, we are thinking of adding the system date as new DATEFROM for delta loads.

Question:

When loading modified items: is there any automatism as in R/3 (that inserts the new item with validity "from now on" and at the same time modifying the period of validity of the old entry) or do we have to copy the old item manually before inserting the new one in order not to overwrite it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you load today, the modified records (new records) will have today's date as DATAFROM, and 12.31.9999 as DATATO. For the old records that exist in the master data table yesterday, the system will assign yesterday's date to DATATO. This way, you will have two records in the master data table.
