Virtual CHAR and KEFIG

Please, can any one help me with the virtual CHAR and KEYFIG creation. I have done every thing mentioned in the documentation of the enhancement and also followed the documentation "HOW TO WORK AROUND WITH SINGLE KEY DATE" but nothing seems to wrok. Is there any documentation available?
