Collaboration Room Templates

I have just created several Collaboration Room Templates in our development environment and I am now wondering how to get these up to the QA & production environments. We are using EP5/SP5.

Can I export these some how or do I have to recreate them in each environment? Can I import the newly created iViews/pages/etc.. after they are created in the new environment by the template creation 'wizzard'?

I would really dislike having to recreate everything from scratch in each environment.

Thanks & regards

    Hi Jon,

To transport your templates, do the following:

    • Export the template workset of your template to a folder named "transport".

    • Remove all .par files from the export result in folder "transport". (This will avoid moving code from your development system to your test system.)

    • Copy the folder "transport" to your test system.

    • Import the contents of the folder "transport" into your test system. (Select the .pkg file folder "transport" in the import UI to do so.)

    • The template should now be available in your test system. Do not forget to enter it in the Room Administration iView. Otherwise you will not be able to create new Rooms based on it!

    • You will receive messages during the import saying that the .par files could not be found. You can savely ignore these messages.

    • This procedure works on EP 5.0 only!
