external-repository based on netware

Hi @ all,

I have to create a km-repository to integrate our netware-fileserver in the km. We use enterprise portal 5.0 and the fileserver has novell netware 5.1!

Is there a way to integrate this server???

Thank you!

Best Regards

    Hi Kai,

currently, there is no connector (repository manager) to Novell.

What seemed to have worked in projects in the past is to expose Novell (version 6 in that case) as a Windows file system and use the standard KM file system repository manager. This is however no by SAP certified / tested / recommended etc. way to do it.

As we have released the repository framework APIs in EP6.0, Novell can write its own repository manager (first contacts with Novell are underway). It would be helpful to know what customers do have a demand for it. Feel free to email me under joerg.wolf@sap.com.

    Cheers,

    Joerg

PS: FileNet and IXOS have developed first versions of repository managers and will certify it in the near future (in analogy to iView certification). This would also be the way for others partners.

      Hi joerg,

first of all, thank you for your reply.

      I´m sad about this news!

I will try your first suggestion.

I guess an other opportunitiy is to intergrate a netware file server with the help of webDav.

The only problem is, that netware 5.1 has no webdav-support !

In both cases I´ve to talk with our novell-guys for updating the system !

Hoping EP6 will be released soon! 😊
