Permissions doesn't flow for classified documents in Taxonomy

Dear all,

I have created a Qeury Based Taxonomy (Auto) on folders in the

repository.

The classification is working fine, all the documents are getting

classified as required.

But the Permissions of the soft link created for the document,

contains "Everybody" with "Full Control". The Permissions of the

softlinks are not the same as Permissions of documents stored in the

folders.

Can anyone tell, how can we maintain the same Permissions as like the

documents, for the soft links cteated in the Taxonomy. Otherwise it

will be dofficult to maintain the security.

Regards,

Harsh Murarka

    Hi Harsh,

the permissions of the documents are not copied to the link permissions, but they are taken into account, when displaying the taxonomy folders. That means for example that a document is only displayed as part of the taxonomy folder, if the user has permissions for the link AND the document. Thus, the permissions for the link in the taxonomy can never be less strict than the permissions for the document itself and you do not have to care for the link permissions to maintain the security.

The permissions for the link only play a role, if you want to define stricter rules for the link than for the original document - so a document may be visible for a user in the original folder, but not as part of the taxonomy.

    Best regards
