KM Performance

We are looking at using CM Repository in KM. We would be bulk loading several 1000's of Folders and Documents. Approx. 18,000 Folder and 100,000 Documents spread across the Folders. Question -

1. What are the performance implication of using such High Volume in Explorer iViews and TREX Search.

2. Is there any one out their who are Productive which such high numbers.

    Hi Venkat,

we are using a portal with about 500.000 document and 35.000 folders. Performance is ok and not real difference to one with a few hundred documents.

    ciao Frank

    The TREX side:

Assuming that these documents are not exceptionally large, but are on average ranging from 50-100 kBytes (exceptions granted, of course), 100,000 documents would equal about 10 Gigs. This amount should still be rather easily handled by a 2-4 CPU, 4 Gig RAM TREX Server without any noticable performance difference to less documents.

    Regards, Karsten
