Sorry, some uncaught error occurred during the requested operation

Hi,

In Eclipse I keep receiving this error once I try to deploy my component to my local portal.

"Sorry, some uncaught error occurred during the requested operation"

The thing is that my component will work fine for quite some time then I will close my workspace, then import the workspace at a later time, and it will give me this error when trying to deploy the component to my local portal.  Eclipse does not behave like this consistantly however, when it begins to do it, it will not stop and that component is basically toast. It has happened to me with several components and they become un usable after (or that I cannot make any changes rather). If anyone has run into this issue before please HELP! ....

Eclipse 2.1.2

  /w PDK plugin version 5.0.5.0

J2SDK 1.3.1_08

Tomcat 3.3

thx

    Hi,

could you please look if you find a corresponding stack trace.

(Either in ...\eclipse\workspace\.metadata\.log or by starting eclipse with "eclipse.exe -consolelog")

    Regards,

    Dieter

Reimporting should do the trick. Also I remember that this error was caused by strange-formatted profiles (e.g. in file default.properties).

Btw. the plugins from 5.0.6.0 had some bug fixes. (5.0.6.0=ep5 sp6). Unfortunately the plugins from sp6 are not compatible with an 5.0.5.0 pdk.

    Hi Kevin,

I have the same error, and then i see that i´m importing the wrong type of project.

When you are importing the project there are two options:

"Create Portal Project from existing" and

    "Existing Project into Workspace".

When i choose "Existing Project into Workspace" i have this error, but when i choose the "Create Portal Project from existing" option, the export process works fine.

This solves the problem for me.

    Bye.
