iView link passing parameters

Hello,

We are using cProjects BSPs in the EP5 portal and would like to investigate the possibility of passing in parameters i.e. tasks in the project. With the standard External Service BSPs you can configure using parameters in the Additional Query String (Optional Property) section but this is obviously static. The senario is that a link, containing parameters identifying the task, would be created and passed via workflow into the user's Outlook inbox within the portal and the link would either open or re-direct the user to the cProjects page with that task in the Portal. Is it possible to define the parameters in the iView so they can receive the data dynamically? Obviously if this is not possible the link could just open the BSP within cProjects passing in the necessary parameters but it would be better to use the Portal for all the users' work.

Or is there an iView which will open any URL passed to it as this would also be effective?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Katie

I am also interested in this, since I want to create a bookmark i BW using the bookmark- command and then later access this report directly in the portal, without having to avigate there manually. I was thinking that it might be possible using parameters in the iView and sending them into the portal using something like

SERVER:1080/sap/bw/BEx?BOOKMARK_ID=#BOOKMARK_ID# in the iView and then feeding the iView with the BOOKMARK_ID from the outside, but I don't get it to work.

The problem seems to be that I am calling a page rather than the iView and then want the page to pass the parameter (argument) on to the iView. I use something like SERVER/SAPPortal?NavigationTarget=/roles/testrole/bookmarktest/BookmarksTest&BOOKMARK_ID=EKLJHAI938OIYS9843LKJ

    when calling the page.

Has someone succeeded in doing something similar?

    /Peter

    Hi Katie,

You could easily and quickly write a little JAVA iView that could take the parameters from the link and dynamically generate the appropriate URL to call your BSP page. This iView would be the link between the portal and the cProject BSP page.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Rgds,

    Simon
