Error Installing EP 6.0

Hi All,

I am getting the following error when I am installing Portal Platform.

This error is encounterd during the Installation of "SAP User Management Engine4.0 (post processing)'

ERROR 2003-12-25 15:18:04

FJS-00003 TypeError: fmgr.getNode(configFile_template) has no properties (in script InstallationScript_167, line 6654: ???)

Are you trying to install EP6.0 SP2?

I had done the installation of EP6.0 SP3 some months back so just dont remember which problems had occured but yes there were indeed some problems.

Yes, we can solve them if we go through the trouble shooting section in the Installation Guide. You have some SAP Notes too which could be very helpful.

I'm getting the same error with a different line number. I've found some notes on SAP (like 668312) that reference the control.xml file in the sapinst directory (which you can only get to if you "stop" the install and not "reset" the install). I believe the configFile_template this error refers to is this control.xml file.

Different sap notes instruct to edit different lines of this file, but this may be a good place to start.

I am also badly stuct with same error. Nighter SAP notes can help me out nor any other source, if any of you know the solution for this error please please please help me.

I already have updated control.xml file as SAP note 668312 but it didnt help.

The resolution of this problem is around only control.xml file.

If you already have updated control.xml file with the help of SAP note 668312 and still you are fasing same problem then please delete this updated control.xml file. Again copy it from installation CD and try installation without doing any change in it.

We had a similar error and none of the previously mentioned fixes worked. We were in the process of adding another application node and received the same error message:

FJS-00003 TypeError: node has no properties (in script InstallationScript 304, line 3372: ???).

It ended up having nothing to do with the control.xml file at all but the primary server was missing the ANALYZER directory from the install folder. This was found after ignoring the log and checking what file was actually being copied. After moving the analyzer folder from a different system in the same landscape, everything worked fine.

Hi. I am not sure if anyone is still using EP 6.0 SP2. If still interested in this old version, go on.

From my experience, there is a great chance for you to encounter the error described herein if you are using a J2EE instance number other than 00. I have been struggling for days with instance number 01, 02, and 03, to no avail. Everything worked out after I went back to use instance number 00 after some cleanup.

If it was the last step to get the error message in Note 668312, then it could be ignored. If metamatrix caused any trouble, then apply 711383.

Now portal starts. Enjoy.
