Hello,
A variety of different teams within and outside of SAP are building/modifying enterprise applications using Java. In the process, a number of different teams are perhaps rewriting the same code - a Java module to create a sales order, for example.
Wouldn't it be great to create an open-source repository of Java code within the SAP Developer Network? This repository could host commonly or not-so-commonly used Java code modules that can be reused by other members of the community. Other advantages of the open source process would also accrue: such as peer review and continuous modification and upgrade. At the very least, all of us can hopefully save some time and not reinvent the wheel.
If you're interested in the idea, please drop me a line (samir.raiyani@sap.com) or just post your thoughts to this thread.
Thanks,
Samir Raiyani
