Can we install SAP server on Windows 7 Home edition

Dear All,

I have a new laptop that has windows 7 home edition. Can we install SQL2008, SAP server, SAP client on that laptop? I didn't see it from SAP portal. I guess the answer might be no. But just want to see if there is any lucky answer. Thanks in advance.

Dear Yuka,

Unfortunately the answer is no. Windows 7 Home edition may not even support Client only. Professional, Enterprise & Ultimate Edition are supported for B1 client.

Why do you need to install server on Windows 7, for what purpose?

It is for our implementation consultant. Sometimes we need just configure everything on the laptop then copy the DB to the clients' SAP DB. Sometimes we need to do demos. We use the laptop as a server and a client.

It is better using RDP for Terminal Server to reach your goal. 8.8 server can not be installed on Windows 7.

Thanks to let me know. Then I will install XP pro for now. The terminal server is not an option. Sometimes it cannot work properly.
