PDF problem

hi,

we've created an iview using PDK that displays a PDF document generated from a smartform. it is based on AbstractPortalComponent and overriding the doOnNodeReady. it works in our development system. in our prodcution system, the generated PDF is garbled but can still display. upon analyzing the PDF data stream, we realized that some space characters are missing.

we tried isolating the problem by using the same EP server with the development and production system. when the EP is pointing to the development server, it works fine. but when pointing to the production system, we encounter the problem. this leads us to believe that the problem is not in EP but rather in the R3 system. but we are clueless as to which component in R3 to check.

any info is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

    Hello,

I just helped someone with such kind of topic. They also had such problems, and the PDF was produced on the R/3 system. There, they got it via a table, each line 255 (256?) chars long; in some cases, the R/3 system cut of blanks at the end of the line; so on server side, the blanks must have been added again.

The next problem was sending the PDF to IE - it is quite important to send it "in one piece", so get the PDF into a ByteArrayOutputStream and then send this to the client.

    Hope it helps
