BPC 7.5 - Universe Designer

Former Member

Hello all,

I'm trying to access BPC 7.5 with Universe Designer using the ODBO provider but I have a problem.

I can access to the applications of ApShell or any other appsets without problems. But I can not access

to one application of an Appset that I created in BPC 7.0, and I restored it in BPC 7.5. Is it a normal problem?

I get the following error in the Universe Designer when I select this application:

Connection error.

Cannot acces dimensions. Verify that you have sufficient rights in the bucket and it is still available.

I have the same rights for all applications.

I'm working with BPC 7.5 MS SP03, Windows Server 2003, SQL server 2005.

Any idea would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Fernando

Something is wrong with one dimension from this third application.

We need more information about errors collected from Appserver database table tbllogs, from event viewer of BPC application server.

It is one dimension which has something wrong and the XMLA BPC web service can not get data related to that dimension because wrong data into fact table, the cube was not process ...

Hello Fernando,

I'd like to know what changes you made in the dimensions.

we're experiencing the exact same error message in Universe Designer, accessing BPC 7.5 Ms Cubes using the ODBO provider. But with a different cause:

We can import AppShell Cubes without issues. Importing them from the other Appset we have is what's causing issues. Also, the cubes in the other Appset are created based on the ones in AppShell.

Thanks in advance,

Francisco

After the restore of 7.0 appset did you perform process of all dimensions and application and check the security (member access profile)?

Did you check if you have access to that ppaset using BPC Excel client?

I think the problem is coming from the fact that 7.0 appset is not properly set.

Or security or dimensions don't have the right settings for 7.5.

Hi Sorin.

Thanks for your quick response.

Yes, I processed dimensions and application. I can access using BPC Excel client and I checked the member access profile.

In the appSet that I restored from BPC 7.0, there are three applications. With two of them, the integration with Universe Designer works perfectly, but not with the other one thet returns the error I told you. I checked the security setttings and they are the same in the three Appsets, and I processed all dimensions and applications.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Fernando
