Detailed Navigation iView - behaviour changes in Hotfix 7

We are using the Detailed Navigation iView to provide a role-based menu. The structure contains a number of folders, which appear as sub-menus, and pages.

We have been happy to use this iView, rather than write a bespoke iView, until Hotfix 7!

After Hotfix 7, the behaviour of the iView changed. When a user clicks on a sub-menu (i.e. a folder) the iView changes to show the content of the folder but now the iView also automatically selects the first page in the folder and updates the whole portal page. This is not what we want! We much preferred it when clicking on a sub-menu in the iView just changed the iView itself.

I wonder if anyone else has the same problem with this iView, and is there a way to make the new iView work the old way?

We also use the detailed navigation, but have only gone to patch 1 hotfix 5 so far.

Looking through the updates I noticed a note for hotfix 8 that is of interest. Ideally for performance reasons, but also gives some insight into how the new process works.

Perhaps you can set the default to a blank page, or try something like setting a default page then editing the PCD so it is actually blank or non-existent. Afraid I can't look at it myself until we apply some hotfixes.
