Hi all,

I am doing File to Idoc scenario. I am connecting to FTP site to pull the files and create Idocs. This is working fine.

When i check the option "Archive", Archive file been created with out any records.

I am connecting to Out side Network FTP site and arching to our NFS folders.

We have given all authorizations to source FTP folders and Our NFS Archive folders too.

But why it's happening like this

Vamsi, this is not posiible to archive file on XI server after reading it from FTP location. The file can only be archieved at FTP itself in this case.

Sarvesh,

Then in another FTP case why am i able to archive the files from FTP?

Is this some thing we can say that we can't Archive the files to XI server when reading from any FTP??? Or only from Out side our Network FTP??

If so then please check if the FTP user is having authorizaiton to access your NFS folder. Since this FTP is outside of your network then there could be some authorization restriction with it.

Sarvesh,

We added the FTP user to NFS(XI Server) group to read/write/ files.

Do you want me to check whether the FTP site guys able to access our NFS folders with FTP user or not??

When you use FTP within network in that case from where you are picking your file? Is it your PC or what??

I was thinking about firwall settings can you check if firewall settings are ok in XI for FTP to access the NFS directory.

Sarvesh,

What i mean to say is Our clients FTP Server with in the client network.I was connecting to that FTP to pull the files.

I think this could be the problem, i can check with my basis guys.

Is this require that the FTP site guys should be able to access the NFS folders from there???

Yes, it should be accesable and if not then it must be authorization or firewall setting issue.

When i check with my network guy, he said it is not required FTP user to access our XI shared folders.XI service user will be used to create the files on shared folder.

Hello,

After long time on this research, i come to know the following

1) File arching is working if there is no Content conversion for that interface

2) If the Interface involved with file content conversion, then archiving is not working.Creating file with Zero size Kb in archiving folder.

Is there any reason for this??? and how to proceed further

Hi,

when you use the Sender File Adapter with FTP protocol the archive directory is intended on the FTP server.

It's not possible to read the file on the FTP server and archive on the local filesystem (NFS)

Hi,

We had one FTP, i.e with in our network and we are able to Archive files from that FTP in Sender FTP Adapter.

In this case we are not doing any mapping, simple pick up the file from FTP and archive to NFS folder.

Then in this case why it is working to archive the files to NFS folders once it pick up from FTP.
