SAP ERP ECC 6.0 installation

Dear Experts,

Answer will be appriciated.

Now I am installing SAP ECC 6.0 on window server 2003. I have downloaded and read instalaltion document for same.

There is not mentioned about Maxdb database in installation in installation document.

Questions.

1. I have to installed Maxdb database before starting installation ???

2. If Yes which version is suitable ? and If No then how when it would be install ?

3. Is there any other doc. related MaxDb database ?

No.

SAPINST will prompt you to point to the DVD with the RDBMS software, everything else is installed by sapinst automatically. No need to install anything before (as with other databases).

For SAP MAXDB documentation see the SAP note 767598, it has also the hints on installation guides.

Answers.

-> When you follow the installation guide there is the step DB install when you use SAPInst.

2. If Yes which version is suitable ? and If No then how when it would be install ?

-> Please check the PAM.

3. Is there any other doc. related MaxDb database ?

Yes, first install the maxdb and then you can install the SAP instance.

Use the version that is provided with the SAP installation software.

I have downloaded document and read that one. In installation document, there is no information to installed maxdb database.

You should look for service.sap.com/instguidesNW70 -> Look for Installation -> Installation Guides for your release (e.g. NetWeaver 7.00 - located at the very bottom of the page) and then you will find a page where you can select a specific installation guide for your OS-DB combination (in your case MAX DB). There you will find the necessary steps in order to install your DB.

There is a installation guide available for MaxDB (service.sap.com/instguide) under database select MaxDB. There is a free SAP training material avaialble under http://maxdb.sap.com/training/

SAPinst will prompt you to install database.
