The presenter for this event is Ed Rosenberg, an SAP product manager.
The call information and instructions for downloading the presentation will be available here shortly.
Hi,
I would like to know if the ad hoc workflows created within the portal can be saved and reused. I would like to establish a standard procedure for my company using this portal feature. Can that be done?
Thanks.

Hi Lothar and Felipe.
Felipe, I am Product Definition for Ad Hoc Workflow and the Universal Worklist. My responsibilities encompass collecting requirements for these two different components from internal and external customers, then incorporating these requirements into future development planning.
Template definition is something we are looking at for a future release: Ad Hoc Workflow already supports templates at the engine level, in fact every created workflow has a template associated with it. However, expressing this in a way that is useful to the end-user can be a challenge. I won't go into excruciating detail here, but some things to consider include: What should an Ad Hoc Workflow template consist of? How fixed or flexible should the template be?
We have some ideas I would be happy to share with you. Additionally, I would be very interested in discussing this topic, and any scenarios you might have, in more detail. I can be reached at tim.granshaw@sap.com.
Thanks very much.

Thank you for your informative webinar which i attended. If you remember i asked a question relating to attachments in UWL.
Currently we are on EP 50.5.1 UWL and we have many backend systems (4.6c and a number of new dimension systems). Attachments appear not be supported for work items from backend system 4.6c (but only for system based on WAS 6.20). This is when the ITS mode for work item detail - false.
Is this how it is intended to work? And if so, will there be support for attachments from 4.6c system in EP60.2 UWL?
Thanks
Fady Youssef

Hello Fady
Document attachments are not supported in releases prior to 6.20 as the necessary backend APIs are not existing. That said, The ITS detail view can be reached through the "Work Item Detail (WebGUI) link on the detail iView page even if the "ITS mode for work item detail" is false.
Your Business Workflow release is probably causing your attachment error: Certain attachment/object types are not supported in the older releases. The Enterprise Portal Plugin 6.0 (WP-PI 6.0) is required to support more types in older releases. The following chart provides an overview:
Release With plugin Without plugin
6.40+ (n/a) Supports all attachments (n/a) Supports all attachments
6.20 Supports all attachments No object display
<=6.10 No binary data support No binary data support, No object display
Thanks very much.

Thanks for your reply.
Can i just clarify a few points.
1. If we have WP-PI6.0 we will be able to see attachments in UWL work item detail (ITS mode =false) generated from SAP 4.6c?
2. When is WP-PI6.0 available?
3. Can WP-PI6.0 be applied to EP6.0.2 only or is there a way to apply it to EP5.0.5?
Kind Regards
Fady
Hi Fady,
Regarding the attachments the following table describes the behavior:
Release With plugin Without plugin
6.40+ (n/a) Supports all attachments (n/a) Supports all attachments
6.20 Supports all attachments No object display
<=6.10 No binary data support No binary data support, No object display

Hi
Can we execute the WF from user centric UI. We have requirement to execute the WI using custom BSP pages after user decision.
We have installed SAP EP 5.0. And have SAP R3 4.6C and WAS is used to develop web contents (custom defined) for SAP R3 4.6C/
Can we perform the following activities in this UWL
1) Select a WI
2) Execute the WI using user decision and the SAP custom BSP pages.

I received the following information from development. Please let me know if you need further information.

========
The workflow has to be defined to create two work items:
1. for the user decision, which handled automatically by UWL
2. for the BSP page. In the Portal, an iView has to be created which refers to the BSP page (create iView, select template SAP BSP iView). In addition, an item type has to be defined for the Business Workflow task id of the BSP page work item (in the configuration XML). The item type has to launch the created BSP iView (details are the UWL admin documentation).
Who do you recommend attend this? Is this going to be a technical discussion or more of a functional discussion targeted for managers? People that are involved with MSS, EBP, Business Workplace (R/3 Inbox)?
Thank you.

I plan to cover end-user functionality as well as high-level technical information. The information is relevant to those who will be implementing the Enterprise Portal 6 SP2 and want to understand the benefits that the Universal Worklist and Ad Hoc Workflow will provide to end-users.

Hi,
will there be any "offline content" available after the webinar (e.g. presentations, docs...)?
Can't attend "real time" due to different timezone (Australia).
Cheers,
Dominic
