Transporting modifyied global master data

Hello Experts

I have modified 0Customer global master data to add 1 new navigational attribute and change 0city from its Display attribute to Navigational attribute. During this i faced alot of problems because of not deleting any transaction data and master data before doing these modifications, Also caused some problem in build with SID tables ( i deleted master data using se14 but did not delete any transaction data causing problem in doing master dataloads in build system).

What should be steps to follow before moving these objects to test environments and production?

Do i need to delete complete transaction data and master data in those systems before moving transport?

Will the problems with SID tables settings will also get transported along with objects?
