Hi,
I have renamed and activated a few InfoObjects. In the DSO i still the old name of the InfoObjects displayed.
I thought changing the name of InfoObjects has the parallel effect in the DSO and the new name will be displayed.
Is there a chance that the new names are displayed in the DSO?
Thanks in advance.
I reactivated the DSO nothing has changed (also after a refresh of the DSO).

Hi,
I have tried it in our BW system and can see that these changes are automatically reflecting without even having to activate DSO.
What I can notice is that, if during the change of Infoobject description, if you are already inside DSO, and then simply try to activate DSO, changes are not appearing in it. You would have to come out of DSO and then go back again, now the changes would automatically appear.
It works now. I have changed the description of the InfoObjects, activated the DSO and logged out and in.
A simply refresh of the DSO has no effect.
But in other DSO where the InfoObjects are used the changes are taking also effect without reactivating the DSO. So I think it is not necessary to activate the DSO again.
Thank you for your help guys!

Renaming an InfoObject does not rename it in existing sources. The name that is in the InfoProvider is a "As Was" when you added it. The only ways to change this are to
1) Do a Where Used and then in each of the InfoProviders right click on that InfoObject and select "Provider-Specific Properties" and overwrite the name with the new name.
2) Delete data from the object. Remove the field from the DSO. Drag it back on. (I don't think you have to activate it between these 2 steps) But this is probably not preferred cause it can reorder the table behind the scenes.

Hi,
Check if in this DSO there is no provider specific properties for this characteristic.

Hi,
When you say that you have renamed infoobject name, I believe you are talking about you have changed the description of the Infoobject, coz you cannot change technical name of infoobject. Please try to activate the DSO again, it should get reflected as I do not see any reason why it would not get changed in DSO as well.
