SAP ByD Customer Specific Stock

Hello,

for one of our customers we have to implement a Kind of a Special Logistic Layout. They want to have a Customer specific Stock / Storage Area for each (Contract Customer) they have.

That means, we should have some storage Areas with a Direct link to each Customer. (90 customers). The System should not allow to pick some goods out of a storage area from an other Customer to fullfill an other Customer demand.

It schould be possible to use those specific storage Areas in every process step from Demand Planning, Purchase Order Creation, Inbound Logistics, Outbound Logistics, Sales Orders and so on)

We strictly wont create a Site for each Customer. (that would be absolutly non sense)

Does anyone have an idea How to implement such process with SAP ByD?

Thanks for your answer.

    Hi Stefan,

To my knowledge this is not possible to do by using logistics areas. Stock checks and ATP are done at the site level and not the logistics area level. I know of no way to restrict a logistics area to a specific customer.

Have you tried looking into product specification? It may be possible to do at least some of what you want by using product specification.

    Hi Stefan,

Brad has mentioned the correct system behavior in this case. In planning the system considers only stock from a site level. The only kind of stock that the system does not consider is Restricted stock. However, you will not be able to use the stock in execution side as well. You can however try a work around in execution side.

    1. Create a warehouse location / logistics area where you keep the stock of your special customer.
    2. Have the product that you deliver to the above customer marked with identified stock which you use specifically for this customer. This will be helpful if you delivery the same product to other customers as well.
    3. Maintain Restrictions in the Logistics Area Level that the logistics area will store products with only the same identified stock. If there are products that you exclusively deliver to the special customer you can maintain "Allowed Products", in the logistics area level.

This is a manageable work around which will involve manual supervision as well since the above restrictions are not hard restrictions. This means that if an end user performs an Ad-hoc Goods Movement to the above logistics area with a product which is not allowed here, the system will allow it. However, while performing the logistics process like logistics area determination etc, the system will consider the restrictions.

A very vague, work around I know but it might just work only at the execution level. The planning side , you are on your own :(, the ATP will be indiscriminate about which logistics area you have the stock .

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anand

    hello Brad

Thanks for your answer. We were also Thinking about that. But can't use that in for planning and it's also no so efficient if we have to create productspecifcations for every Customer because we are fully integrated with an external PIM System and a eCommerce platform.

Does anyone have other ideas How to fix our issue?

    Thanks a lot,

    Regards, Stefan
