Due to company code merger, we are doing inter-company asset transfers using ABT1N.
The issue I am facing is in the newly created asset in the transferee company code, in the asset master data Depreciation Areas tab columns- Expired useful Life in years and periods are not present.
However any existing asset in the transferee company code has these columns. So nothing wrong with screen layout configuration (AO21) as Expired useful life & Expired Life u2013Periods fields are defined as optional there.
Hi,
the expired useful life comes from the ANLC. A ANLC line for a asset is created after the first fiscal year change (ANEP's will be summarized for ANLC line). Then tha asset gehts the expired useful life in the depr. area.

Hello Arti,
OK, you have a ANLC line like this....
BUKRS ANLN1 GJAHR NDABJ NDABP
0001 000000020001 2010 018 006
...but you can not see it in AW01N.
You have already maintained the screen layout rule as optional.
Have you checked the maintainance level in the screen layout rule? Have you flagged here Asset main number?

Hello Bernhard,
For field groups 19 & 20 are maintained as option and I have flagged all 4 columns mentioned below for those filed groups
Indicator: Entry allowed in asset class
Ind.: Transfer entry from main asset number to sub-number
Ind.: Entry allowed in asset sub-number
Indicator: Copy field group from reference asset
But still the newly created asset master doesnt show the relevant fields

Hello Arti,
I checked it on the test system.
First let me clarify:
If you got to AW01N in the depr. areas you can not see expired useful life. That means it is not greyed out, you mean that this field is really not present - right?
Generally If you make a transfer with ABT1N the ANLC is updated and you have in the depreciation areas this field.
It depends on the ANLC.
1. Check if this field is present in another asets with the same company code and screen layou rule.
2. Make a copy for me of the following table fields of ANLC:
AFABE NDABJ NDABP

Hello Bernhard
Thanks for your response. I have found the solution
FYI - Following configuration resolved my issue
Asset Accounting è Transactions è Intercompany Asset Transfers è Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers è Define Transfer Variants
-> Select method as you want. Generally we should select "Gross Method" and double click on Depreciation area in the structure
-> Select depreciation area to which you want to transfer values and double click on the "Field transfer of field groups"
-> Select the check box Remaining useful life and save it
Regards,
Arti
