Hey Guys,
I 'm interested in your experience with DBACOCKPIT. We planning on dividing rights with the BASIS team. They only concentrating on the server specific task like that if the server dies they intervene but as for developing objects / programming or creating and setting authorization as BI team we are doing these tasks.
Question 1:
So Basicly my question considering the above is there any functions in DBA cockpit that I should ask for ?
As far as I can see there are some options like checking the unindexed tables and the resource requirement of some of the SQL statements which seems to me more like Dev task rather then basis but since I do not really have much experience with it I am not sure.
Are there any recommendation from your side that we should keep in our hand ?
Question 2:
Also what are the monitoring activities that we should ask from basis team ? (both from cockpit and from toher transactions)
On which basis ? (daily/weekly)
Hello
why do you want to divide the admin right in the SAP (BW) Basis Team?
Especially BW need an integrated Admin Team to ensure an end to end Support.
Answer to Q1: anything related consistency of data should be reported immediately, as well as space or memory problems
Answer to Q2: anything related consistency of data should be reported immediately, as well as space, memory and Configuration problems, eg.

Hi Roland,
For inhouse "political" reasons we needed to divide the responsibilities with the Basis team but we also needed to agree on keeping only those rights that are necesery for Business Developments like setting authorizations, developing objects (like cube, infoobject, transformation objects etc .
Soon they will remove our SAP all SAP New rights on the development systems and I try to gather all the transaction that needed for keeping every process in line and also to be able to develop newer and newer objects/reports.
We have quite a list by now but there was a mention on DBAcockpit that we might need it so I try to investigate into it and gather some reasons why we should keep it at least with "read" activity (if we really need it )
