Dear SAP Techies,

I have a situation to configure alert in solution manager for GRC system landscape.

Can any one give me idea about what are all alert configurations that can be done

Any references to SAP notes or help is highly apperciated.

Best Regards,

    Hello Viswanathan,

Please review the diagnostics URL to see if it helps you out:

Also, please review the following SAP Notes which will also guide you through diagnostics and solution manager setup/installation:

    1010428 End-to-End Diagnostics

1145779 SAP Solution Manager 7.0 Installation

1163836 Solution Manager Diagnostics required for troubleshooting

Also pay attention to the relevant notes listed on the bottom of these. If you follow these documents, I'm sure you will have your issue resolved.

    Hope this helps you out!

    Hello Viswanathan,

Which kind of Alerts are you inquiring about?

    EarlyWatch Allerts?

    CCMS Alerts?

    System Monitoring Alerts?

Please have a look here in the media libray and there are samples of EWA alerts for [Java|] systems

Please have a look here in Help for [CCMS |]Alerts

Please look here in Help for [System Monitoring Alerts|]

GRMG is mainly for availability monitoring purposes.

In addition to the GRMG, Please check the CCMS monitoring setup guide available at the SAP Service marketplace, install the relevant CCMS (SAPCCMSR) agent on the Java system you're referring to and then register that CCMS agent to the CENtral monitoring system like Solution Manager.

The link may give you some basic idea.

In RZ20 (of CEN system), define the relevant alert parameters and the corresponding thresholds.

In Solution Manager system administration tool, you can then centrally monitor all the alerts generated by CCMS agent of the remote system, also setup the auto reaction method which would generate automatic e-mails as and when the threshold levels are reached. This would give the proactive monitoring benefits to you.
