How to change valuation class for a material,for a particular plant

Dear all,

User want to change wrong valuation class to a correct one in MM02

system is not allowing

Please guide me

To change valuation class in the existing material master record, user should follow steps.

1. For this material, stock should not be exist for the plant. Check stock levels in the MMBE transcation

If exists, remove stock.

2. No open documents.

If there is any open documents ( PO's, Production orders, sales order), need to close all those documents.

Changing material type through MMAM will change valuation class of material.

Hi Balaji,

If you are intending to change the Valuation class for a material follow the following steps :

1. Check if any stock exists for that material - stock should be zero.

2. Check if any open transactions like PR,PO, STO exist.

3. Change material valuation class through the following :

TCode : MMAM

Input Required : Material Number and New Valuation Class

Execute (F8)

That material have change from old valuation class to new valuation class.

4. Verify the change in the Material Master - Accounting Tab.

Hi

You will able to change valution class if there exists no Stock /No Purchase /production order for the material etc.

Please check for display error .

you can chage the val class in material but, follow below mwntioned points

1. close all open po

2. close all open pr's

3. claer all reservations clearted on that material ans plant

4. check the open production orders.

check in mb51 for that material if any transaction is open kindly close the same.

after this exercise system allow you to change the val class.

hi,

basically valuation class is maintained at the material type level, if the material is not split valuated,

if it is split valuated , valuation class is maintained at valuation type level,

if you want to change the valuation class, there should be no stock is maiantined for the material,

and need to close the all open purchasing documents,

you can change the valuation class through MM17 ( mass maintance ),

reference field is MBEW-BKLAS.
