Hi all
We need to connecting SQL Server with Oracle Database
but I forgot the password for user SYSTEM and SAPSR3 in oracle database
we are using oracle 10g
Is there any impact on SAP System if I change the password ?
Thanks & Regards,
Della
You can proceed , suggest you to use brtools

Hi Della,
SAP system does not touch user SYSTEM at all, so there is no impact for you to change/reset the password for SYSTEM, either via brtool or via SQLPlust directly.
SAP system uses SAP<SID>DB user to connect to the database, so if the password is changed from DB side, it must be synchronized to SAP system, orelse, the SAP will not work any more as it will be unable to connect to DB.
If you change it via brtool, the brtool will do the synchronization for you automatically, so there is no impact...
Thanks and best regards,
Thunder
The replies are confusing some people are saying that we have to use SAP brtools in order not to have an impact on SAP while others say that that you cannot change the Sys & System passwords using Brtools.
