Hi All,
when i was searching for help on semantic groups i found below an i have question in that can any one please clarfy that....
1)Semantic Groups are used to specify how you want to build the data packages that are read from the source (DataSource or
InfoProvider). To do this, define key fields i.e. check the fields after you click on semantic group. Data records that have the
same key are combined in a single data package.
Question:-will this above functionality will be same if we give a check mark for one of the key field in the smantic groups.
Eg: i have 0doc_num as key field in ods if i selct that in semantic groups the documnet numbers which are same will be
coming in same package??????
2) This setting is only relevant for DataStore objects with data fields that are overwritten. This setting also defines the key fields
for the error stack. By defining the key for the error stack, you ensure that the data can be updated in the target in the correct
order once the incorrect data records have been corrected.
The option 1 is only for ODS?
Key field for error stack?i cant get this?
3) The key determines which records should be detained when processing. For example, if you define "purchase number" and
line as the key, if you have one errorenous record with an order number 123456 line 7, then any other records received in that
same request or subsequent requests with order number 123456 line 7 will also be detained.
In the above example it is mentioned as "purchase number" but the example taken is on order number 123456 line 7 here what is line 7 means.
if the records are coming day by day with order number 123456 line 7 will all be moved to error stack...and if order number is key then we will have only one record in error stack?
can any one please explain in more detail.........................
Think of semantic groups as the key of the error stack - it's a data quality feature really.
