RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN for SAP S/4 HANA On Premise Edition

Hi All,

Could you please let us know if we can use the RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN Function Module for creation of Business Partner(Customer/Vendor) in S/4 HANA On premise Edition 1709. When we checked the Function Module it says that it is not released. Why has SAP provided the Job_DM_BusinessPartner_RFC For Customer Vendor Business Partner for S/4 HANA On Premise Edition 1709 if the above function module is not released. What would be the best approach if we want to create Business Partner using BODS IDOC Job.

Can we use Job_DM_CustomerMaster_IDOC(DEBMAS06) and Job_DM_Vendor_IDOC(CREMAS05) for creating Business Partner in S/4 HANA.

Hi Arun,

I was wondering as well why the Best Practices for Data Migration job for Business Partners still uses the function module RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN. But even if it becomes obsolete it is still working and we were able to migrate Business Partners successfully to S/4 HANA.

As far as I know you cannot use the jobs Job_DM_CustomerMaster_IDOC(DEBMAS06) and Job_DM_Vendor_IDOC(CREMAS05) with S/4 HANA, since they would create only customers and vendors while S/4 HANA requires Business Partners.

Best regards
Marcus

Thanks Marcus!!

We were also able to load sample customer and vendors using this function module in SAP Data services.

The RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN Function Module was supported before, it isn’t anymore. You can still use it. At your own risk.

It’ s been removed from V4.42 for S/4HANA 1809. You can use the old IDOC-based ones. But will have to do CVI in the target afterwards.

If your target is 1809 you can also use a new version of the jobs (generating MC input).

Hi, released BP APIs are documented in note 2417298 "Integration of Business Partner with Customer and Supplier Roles".

Note 2506041 "S4TWL - API RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN is not supported from the release S/4 HANA OP 1709 FPS2 and in Cloud Edition 1805 onwards" describes the simplification item for the function module RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN.
