Setting a buiness partners role to inactive

Hi,

let's assume there is a business partner with two roles (eg. house bank and customer).

We want to set the role customer to obsolete. How can this been done? We always get an error message saying that this is not possible.

Does this mean, we will always see that partner in his role customer as active although we have no customer relation with him anymore?

Hi Harshal,

sorry, that doesn't help. What is needed is to be able to set each role to obsolete. Otherwise one always has data rubbish in the views. In my example that would mean always to see the obsolete customer in all related views. That is a source of error!

Hi Klaus,

If the business partner has various roles assigned. These roles cannot be separately set to "obsolete" as the obsolete status exists only once per business partner, and is not based on the role.

Si if you are trying to set customer as obsolete, system would also try to make house bank as inactive. This house bank account may have some balance and could be causing the issue. You can check the CD : 2123444 - You Are Unable to Close a Bank Account as Balance Is Not Zero
