MII Scope for SAP PP Consultants

Dear experts, i am basically SAP PP consultant. In one of the project we have MII in scope. would like to know what will be the expected work for SAP PP guys with regard to MII system here? is it to integrate MII with SAP PP module using PI as middle ware? or Whether the standard MIIs available which are available with pre-configured or pre-integrated with sap pp module? what will be the typical activities for sap pp guys in such projects. appreciate your help in understanding this subject.

    Hello Raju

    SAP PP has a component called PP-MES, which is generally used to integrate production orders with MES systems. Take a look into the following link to learn more about it:

    Hi Raju,

    Whether you use PI between MII and PP(ECC) most often depends on whether PI is already in place for message handling. If the customer is not already using PI, then it is simpler to do without and link between PP and MII directly. Unless the infrastructure is already in place, the inclusion of a third link in the communications chain increases effort, complexity, and opportunities for errors to creep in (as well as requiring a PI savvy resource or resources).
