comment field should be enter freely in the report

Dear Experts,

I have a product color quantity by those combination characteristics we can write back in the cube that is possible. But in my scenario comment field should be enter freely and with that combination of product color quantity can we right back in the cube.

is it possible.

Hi Varun,

You havent mentioned whether you are doing this as a web based planning scenario or as a excel based. The comments can be achieved freely in a excel based planning scenario, where in you can create two infoobjects as Comment1 and Comment2, of type char. These can be put in your query, and can be used to enter comments upto 60 characters each, 120 characters in total.

Since you might have already had characteristic combinations for Product And Colour ( Quantity i am assuming is an input ready key figure) , you should not have problems in saving them as per the specific combination.

i created repost plaining function for product color comment. when i am trying to excute in plaining sequence input template able to see product color commet but not able to enter free text for that comment field.

Before going to WAD or Excel is there any way to cross check my comment .

Hi,

What are the infoObject properties for Product color? Is it of type CHAR with length 60?

Have you de-activated the property 'With master data' in InfoObject maintenance screen for this InfoObject? If not then system will not allow you to enter any free text.

If you have already done the above settings then you should be able to enter the free text through planning sequence input-template step.

What error are you getting exactly?

i thinks product color and comment three are master data properties may be in the input template of plaining sequence doesnt work. i will ckeck and up date to you

Dear ALL Experts,

Iam able to enter the comment in wad by means of documents.

How iam able to enter is ->right click on any cell in comment field -

---

>select document--

---

> select create new comment.

It displays the comment.can any one please explain me How comment value is storeing in documents
