Technical user with expired password - how can it be ?

Hello Experts,

The UME built in administrator user of our Java portal is set as Technical User.

However today when we logged in as administrator - it prompted that the password expired, requesting a new password.

How is that possible if it's set as Technical User ??

Does anyone have a clue ?

Hi,

In fact the UME security policy for password expiration should not affect the technical users. But if the users are stored in LDAP there is a chance that the security policy of the LDAP is also affecting them.

The administrator user is not an LDAP user - but a UME user...

If it is a "Technical User" & has the AS-JAVA database as the datasource this shouldn't have never been the case.

Raise a message with SAP to get it confirmed just to ensure that there isn't a bug. etc

Hello Adi,

Are you using an ABAP datasource? In that case you must ensure that the user is a 'system user' in the abap side.

Hi

We are not using ABAP as data source. We are using LDAP (Active Directory) but the Administrator user is the default local UME user.

I personally checked this problem - the user was 1000000% set as Technical.

I tried to login and i was prompted to change the password.

In order to "fix" it i changed it to Default --> and back again to Technical.

Weird....

Not possible, check the user logs, someone must have changed it to the type DEFAULT user.
