PP-PI :Activate process management tab for custom defined characterisitc -

Dear PP PI Experts,

I have created a new custom characteristic for use in PP-PI process management. I have assigned the characteristic group "process message characteristic", and status "released". Inspite of this, the process management tab is not active for this characteristic. I want to assign my user defined function module and it is not possible without activating this tab.

Has anyone faced this problem before? If so, could you please let me know how to solve this?
