Hello Experts,
I am starting to go into an exploration journey in what is the difference between these three modules, and I am wondering if someone could explain what would you recommend in the following scenario.
Imagine that a company wants to implement S/4 HANA and IBP. They want to have a great S&OP planning module but they would like to have a order confirmation process, prioritize orders, take into account orders into their demand planning and be responsive to any new sales order or massive changes in the short term.
I have a couple of questions.
Thanks in advance for those who take their valuable time to share your knowledge 🙂
Hello,
Let me put it in some other way around.
SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) is partially succeeded by two products = SAP S/4 HANA + SAP Integrated Business Planning (SAP IBP).
SAP APO gATP capabilities are partially available in SAP S/4 HANA advanced ATP (S/4 AATP)
SAP APO DP capabilities are partially available in SAP IBP for Demand (S&OP)
SAP APO SNP capabilities are partially available in SAP IBP for Response⋑ply
Whats there in aATP?
Product Allocation in Advanced Available-to-Promise (aATP)
Backorder Processing in Advanced Available-to-Promise(aATP)
Order Fulfillment
SAP S/4 HANA advanced ATP : Order Promising and Confirmation solution which provides
Fast product availability check, both online and in batch mode to make accurate delivery date commitments against customer orders
Product allocation check to manage shortages
Back Order Processing with intuitive requirement classification and filter criteria
Flexibility to make informed last minute changes to confirmations before delivery
Alternative Based Confirmation (Plant and
Product substitution)
IBP -
Sales and operations planning - Deliver a cross-departmental sales and operations plan that balances inventory, service levels, and profitability.
Consider both capacity and material constraints via time-series based Optimization or use a heuristic calculation to have a view on the unconstrained plan Demand, Supply and Financial Model on aggregate and detailed level. Time series based heuristic planning to create an infinite plan.
Response and supply planning - Optimize resourcing efficiency by creating supply plans based on prioritized demands, allocations, and supply chain constraints.
Create a supply order based supply plan via prioritization rules
Generate and provide allocations to ATP and reschedule sales orders
IBP- Integration
Standard Integration with
SAP ERP, S/4 HANA and
APO
