Dear all,
could someone indicate how critical it is to activate SRM index tables and HTTP compression for webdynpros.
Customer would like to activate and is not sure, if that could endanger the system.
Appreciate any experiance and input.
Cheers,
Claudia
Hi,
From my point of view this couldn't 'hurt' your system. If indexing is done right it would benefit your system performance. Indexing doesn't change anything it just adds something (indexed areas of tables, faster searchable tables). The way i look at the webdynpro compression part is that it will reduce webdynpro screen sizes (most probably creating/adding extra lower-sized wedynpro entities), I don't think these options will 'demolish/hurt' your system.
What maybe could be a good way to go about is: activating these settings 1 by 1 (not all at once), activating at "night" (when there is low/no system load), if available/possible test in a dev/qa environment first.
Ps. You might want to post this same question in a SAP basis forum?
Kind regards,
Tim
