Will more dataproviders slow down the report building process

Hi,

We have a complex report of 5 pages. We have 5 data providers for the 5 pages. The data providers access the same tables but for different data. Will the report creation process be faster if there was only one data provider and the different(pages) in the report are formatted according to the requirement.

Will the report building process be faster if the number of variables used to create the report is less. The report just extracts the fields from the table and reports it rather than having calculated on the BOXI report.

    If you have 5 data providers then 5 different queries will be executed in your database and result will only be displayed once all five of them are complete. Even if the data providers are exactly the same it will hit the database again.

    If you are accessing the same table again for different attributes then I would suggest you create only one data provider and bring all the dimensions and measures you need for different tabs of the report. This will be much faster than your previous approach.
