Material Master - Making certain fields display only according to the view

Hello,

We are trying to have the material description field (MAKT/MAKTX) become display only for all views in material maste EXCEPT BASIC VIEWS, where we would like it to be a changable field...

Is this possible? I know you can use OMSR and OMS9 to make this field required, display, optional, but then it makes this change in ALL views in the material master, were we want to have it different according to view.
