Restricting by vendor in MD04

Hello Gurus,

I have a requirement that certain vendors will come to our office and access SAP to access their own purchasing relevant details. But this does not restrcit them to see only their vendors. Since they wanted to see their own purchasing docs, stock overview, material movements etc...I am thinking instead of giving them all the seperate transactions, I would use MDO4 which helps to review all of their information in a single transaction. But again, if they run MD04, they could mention any vendor and access other documents as well which should be restrcited.

So is there any exits available to throw an error if they try to input the other vendor so that this can be restrcited only to them.

Please help!

Mahee,

Aaaagh! I am incredulous that you would be considering giving a vendor access to MD04. There is much information there that is none of his business. He could share this info with your competitors.

I would say that a vendor should be able to see ONLY his POs and no others.

I would say that a vendor should be able to see ONLY GR against his pos and no others.

I can see that it MIGHT be appropriate for him to see Purchase Reqs that have been sourced to him.

I would say that a vendor should NOT be able to see stock, unless you have made him responsible for replenishment.

I would say that a vendor should normally not be able to see any detailed requirement for his material, only a qty/date.

Since it seems that you have not installed SRM, then one method to support this requirement is to send him a custom report or reports that will send him just the info he needs to do his job. I can't imagine giving a vendor any kind of MD04 access.

Not sure if MD04 will give the option to enter vendor code!!

However, give authorization to there vendor code only by creating seperate user ID for each vendor..

Creating seperate user ID for vendors will also not work as security would not able to restrict the access by vendors.

I don't think security can able to give access by user ID ...any more inputs ?

Hello

This can be controlled by the user authorizations only. But this is not a practical solution as we can't create a user ID for each vendor (Each user licence again a cost element) .

Instead of authorization control, you can explore the possiblity of sending the output of MD04 to Vendor as mail/printout.
