No transport target

Hi,

I am working with an inernal client who only has a DEV and PRD R/3 system. We have a DEV, QAS and PRD PI landscape. He would like to test using his DEV R/3 sysem in out DEV and QAS system.

In this situation I want to move the objects from DEV to QAS but use the same business sysem in QAS as I'm using in DEV. My problem is that I need a transport targe setup in the SLD when transporting from DEV to QAS. I've had a look at he SLD and it appears to be impossible to setup a transport target from DEV to DEV.

Does anyone have an suggestions?

Hi Robert,

If you would like to use the same business system in your QA system, then you need to manually create in QA. Then while moving the transports from DEV, follow the instructions below:

1. Select the Business system in SDLD.

2. Select the partivular Business system.

3. Now, you would get four different tabs below the screen.

4. Click on Transports tab.

5. Now, select the target Business system.

Now, try to move your transports from Dev to QA.

We use the same SLD for DEV and QAS. I'm not sure how I can have wo business systems with the same name. I'm assuming that I would also need two technical systems too?

If you use the same SLD for both Dev and QA, then determine the target Business systems in SLD for the movement.

By determining the Target Business system, objects would be moved accordingly.

I'm not sure how I can have wo business systems with the same name.

I think you need to have different names for your business systems in dev and QA as you cannot specify the same name for target also.

Add D ,Q at the end of the names to differentiate b/w dev and QA eg: ...xxx_D,xxx_Q

Hi,

I can give a clue on this, Create a dummy business system in SLD

The source system will be your DEV system and Target is some dummy system

than this Dummy system is source system and target is production system.

You can give it a try and see whether it works or not.
