Dear all,
I just finished the installation of Abap and Java stack (with xml files generated via MP) for Solman 7.2 SP8.
My question is how to connect the systems and actually how to connect the Java stack to Abap.
Thank you
Dimitris
Hi Dimitris,
I am sorry, but I have not installed SP08 directly yet, only done upgrades from previous SPs. The strange thing for me in this case is that Java did not ask for users, even if it still should have UME in ABAP.
Did your ABAP SP08 installation have step with creation of JAVA users?
Anyway, the final connection of ABAP and JAVA is done through Mandatory configuration in solman.

Hi Dimitris,
During installation of SAP Solution manager ABAP, SWPM was asking for JAVA users (because solman JAVA is being installed with ABAP as UME source). Also during installation of JAVA, you have to specify connection to ABAP and JAVA users you have created during ABAP installation. This is first "sign" of connection between those two systems.
The connection of ABAP and JAVA is then done in Mandatory Configuration - Infrastructure Preparation - Step 1 Set Up Landscape Management - Step 1.3 LMDB Content check.
Of course, you have to have your SLD ready, both systems registered in it, LMDB ready etc. But if you follow Mandatory Configuration step by step, you should have no problems as everything is set up during previous steps.

Hi Jan
i did the connection and now facing some issues in preparation 2.2 regarding the java components. I have opened a ticket for this as it seems to be a known issue but the released note with the solution did not work for me 🙂
Thank you for your help.

Hi Dimitris,
That is quite strange, but as I wrote earlier, the final connection of those two systems is in configuration. Maybe there are some differences with newer SWPM? No idea from my side 🙂 There should not be much of a difference between downloading binaries for installation manually or creating installation through maintenance planner as you are installing initial shipment stack with SWPM before updating it with SUM. And initial shipment stack is something you have to put in your basket yourself as Maintenance planner puts only Upgrade files there.
Let me know, if the configuration was OK for you and if you had some troubles!

Hi Jan,
thank you for your answer. I performed two installations, the first one (7.2 SP3) was by downloading the media manually and not via MP.
In this installation, Java asked for a connection users
The second installation was with SP8 and via MP. In this one, Java installation did not ask for the users in abap.
